HENDERSON, Tenn. – After an extended winter break, the Lady Lions (7-5, 1-4 MSC) with a 63-33 win over Covenant College (0-5) on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Lions were supposed to face Mid-South Conference opponent Life University on Saturday, but due to Covid reasons, FHU had to find a new opponent, and the Scots answered the call. Covenant College scored the first bucket of the contest, but it was all Lady Lions from there with defense being the staple in the win.
FHU forced the Scots to turn the ball over 31 times in the contest while recording 11 total steals. They held the visitors to just 23-percent shooting from the field, and a mere five percent from behind the arc.
The Lady Lions were led by Alyssa LeMay, who finished with a double-double, scoring 18 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
It was an efficient afternoon for KJ White, who scored 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field. Hannah Hughed rounded out the double-digit scoring for the Lady Lions with 11 points.
The Lady Lions will travel to Pikeville on Thursday. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
