HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – The King University women’s triathlon team took to the course for the first time in 2020 on Sunday at the Hendersonville Triathlon. The Tornado were led by Steph Dansie who came in with a 19th place finish in a field of more than 100 competitors.
Dansie started out with a solid swim, finishing in 6:17 before finishing the bike in 45:01. She improved her placing with a run of 21:16 to finish in 1:16:43 and take 19th.
In her first collegiate rate, Abbie Erme came in 22nd with a time of 1:17.52. She started with a 6:52 swim before a 47:05 bike and a strong close with a run time of 19:47.
Emily Sutherland came in next with a time of 1:22.24 to take 33rd. She started with a swim of 8:38 and followed with a bike of 46:15. Sutherland closed with a strong run of 22:56.
Jayne Wolbert also competed in her first collegiate triathlon, taking 37th with a time of 1:24.06. She started with a swim of 6:59 before posting a run of 49:26. She closed with a run of 22:36.
The Tornado return to the course on October 11 at the King University Fall Triathlon that will be hosted at Warriors Path State Park in Kingsport, Tenn.
